ATTRIBUTES OF A CHAMPION (By N.S. NATHAN)
Are you familiar with such name as Muhammad Ali, Michael
Jordan, Mike Tyson, and Lance Armstrong? How about someone like Chris Evert?
Chris Evert wisely quipped, “If you are a champion you have to have it in your
heart”
Champions like the ones we listed above and also those we
did not mention became champions not by chance but by choice. They decided to
become champions and did not wait for the world to just come and hand them
championship medal on a platter of gold, but chose to do certain things which
prepared them for the championship.
As these people became champions in the field of athletics
so also you can become a champion
in any field you find yourself. Its only some
step away. The great law of the universe is the law of cause and effect. This
law says that for every effect, there is a cause or causes. Everything happens
for a reason, success is not an accident and failure is not an accident, they
are all consequences or effect of certain causes. The law of cause and effect
also says if you do what other successful people in any field do, you will eventually
achieve the same result that other successful people achieved. But if you do
not do what other successful people do, you will experience failure, frustration
and defeat in your life.
The thrust of this essay is to examine the attributes or
traits of champions. Do you want to also be a champion in your own field? Then
you must understand and do what other champions do and eventually, you will
replicate their story in your own field.
