Liverpool finally gets a knock out of the Europe league. They were kicked out by Besiktas and for them it seems all hope for champions league is now lost.
The last time Liverpool contested a penalty shoot-out at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, they created one of the most memorable chapters in the club’s esteemed history. But this time on Thursday night, however, was a different story.
Ten years on from that miraculous European Cup victory over AC Milan, Liverpool crashed out of European competition for the second time this season. A meek 1-1 draw with Basel in December ended their Champions League campaign, but Liverpool have looked a different prospect since then and will therefore be immensely disappointed with this outcome.
The result was a disappointing one as Besiktas hinged the victory there by leaving Liverpool Hopeless.
