Introduction
The Institute of Natural Resources, Environment and Sustainable Development (INRES) is a multidisciplinary Centre of Excellence established in 2011 with a grant by the MacArthur Foundation to produce competent indigenous manpower in natural resources and environmental management. Objective
The objective of the MSc programme is to produce competent graduates with interdisciplinary/ multidisciplinary training in natural resources and environmental management. The emphasis is to develop critical knowledge and skills of graduates in order to enhance their employability and professional performance.
Admission Requirements
Admission is open to first degree graduates in science, social science, engineering, management, health sciences and related disciplines who possess minimum of second class lower degree (CGPA of 3.00 on a 5-point scale and 2.40 on a 4-point scale). Applicants will be subjected to a written test and an oral interview.
Mode of Study and Programme Duration
The duration of the programme for fulltime students is 12 calendar months (no disruption by strike actions), consisting of nine months of lectures and three months for research project.
Career Opportunities
Career opportunities exist for graduates of the programme in environment and natural resources related ministries, agencies and departments of government and private sector.
