Failing with a backup excuse

When you were probably in secondary school, you thought failure was for dummies! As God will have it you gained admission into the tertiary institution. After your first year you got your share and thought it was for over religious folks, after your 2nd year you resolved that it was for folks without a game plan, after 3rd year you told yourself carry overs are for unbelievers. Now you are graduating with  3rd class and you are quoting Gods plan for me is of good to get me to my expected end.

Truthfully, at what stage of this persons school life was he correct?
