Liverpool, Man City secure a win in the opening game

 Liverpool FC had a great outing today as they recorded their first win in their opening game against Southampton. The game ended in a 2 : 1 win with Liverpool playing at home


FT: Liverpool winning the match 2-1 against Southampton at Anfield. Raheem Sterling scores in the first half only for Clyne to equalise in the second. It was up to Daniel Sturridge to score the winner from a Raheem Sterling assist. Although Liverpool hardly looked convincing, it was still three points won in a very competitive game.

Before the game between Newcastle and Man City, there was a minute’s silence dutifully observed as tribute was payed to Newcastle supporters Liam Sweeney and John Alder. See photo below
