    From Brazil: World Cup too Expensive for most Brazilians


    The city of São Paulo also called Itaquera is one of the poorest places in Brazil and the Corinthians Stadium Arena where the World cup opening ceremony will take place is located in that city. Although The residents of the neighborhoods usually fill the stadium in Corinthians’s home matches, but this time they can only watch the party from afar due to the expensive nature of the world cup. The Brazilian government has so far spent about 11 billion dollars on stadiums and infrastructure projects, making this tournament the most expensive in history.
    . A recent poll shows that 61% of the Brazilian population feel hosting the World Cup would be a bad thing for their country, especially after finding out that the games will generate $4 billion in total revenue for FIFA, much more than the previous tournament in South Africa in 2010.
